[He opens his mouth to say something, but whatever he might have been about to say seems to die in his throat as Bakugo tugs him forward. He's not quite steady on his feet when the other releases him. Izuku stumbles, falling. He glances up at Bakugo when he walks by, shifting to get to his feet himself, brushing off some dirt from his cheek with his sleeve.]
Kacchan? Wait up!
[He knows he screwed things up. He can't expect it to just be magically fine because he was back now. It's harder to say if it was more Izuku's own guilt over leaving or Bakugo's fury over him doing so without a word. But he does want to try to fix things. He stumbles as he tries to follow after the blonde.]
[ Izuku does nothing wrong - quite litearlly. Katsuki is just unable to bear the sincerity that makes him who he is, especially in this moment when he wants Izuku to - trust him fully? Lean on him? See him as someone he can blindly believe in?
The sting in his pride that Izuku doesn't, and the hurt in his feelings, causes him to ache awkwardly, and he doesn't realize there is more to that reason. Doesn't want to think or care for it, Bakugo tries to swallow all of that down like a hard pill. An itch that comes as a consequence of this, making him want to turn around. Crawling along the back of his neck, and it takes his full sheer willpower to not turn around and face Izuku again - he tries hard to ignore him instead.
Tries to bury his feelings back in that hatred he had always felt for him, but doesn't want to do that either. ]
[Izuku is oblivious to what was really going on, what was going through Bakugo's mind. The reason he was so angry. So it is hard for him to know what to do. What does the other need? What he might have done, exactly. He just knows that he wants to catch up. That he is frustrated and unsure of what he could do to fix things. Whatever it was.
Izuku picks up pace, reaching for the other's shoulder if he manages to catch up.]
[ Bakugo turns sharply, his shoulder bumping hard against Izuku's hand as he turns over to look him in the face rather suddenly. Red eyes that fiercely stare into his emerald colors, puffing up his own chest a bit as he tries to tower over the other. Katsuki is, in fact, a few inches above Izuku, but when he moves in the way that he does. Suddenly stepping in close, it may feel like he's bigger. ]
DON'T.
[ Katsuki just apologized, and he just got over those feelings of terror he once felt. The idea that he was less than Izuku anytime he stood in front of him like this - reaching out that hand of his with a desire for help. So as he barks that single word at Izuku, his teeth gnash tightly together, right after. Exposed, as if he were a wolf growling angrily at him, baring fangs to bite down at Izuku with. Again, he says nothing, but he stares back at him fiercely-angrily, a small bit of hurt lingering deep within the well of anger he has within his chest, and also something else.
Which lingers there in a new kind of heat between the two of them, standing there in silence, bearing down a gaze at him. ]
[He's used to the other's volume. The shouting. The yelling. He just senses somehow that this is.....different, this time. A different sort of tension between them that he isn't sure what to do about. How to help. What it meant? He isn't entirely cowering and backing down like he might have earlier. Not stepping back. But his hand, reaching for Bakugo, pauses in place, fingers clutching loosely and touching his palm instead of his intention to touch the other's shoulder. He knows they aren't that much different in height. But it feels like more when Bakugo is furious, puffing up like this. It isn't that it's not intimidating. A little. But Izuku is more concerned than afraid right now.]
[ It's not there, that boundless faith Izuku always had in Katsuki that pissed him off before. The feeling of thinking Izuku was looking down at him, because he thought Izuku felt he could do better. Realizing only recently what Izuku actually felt for him was something else entirely. It grated on his nerves, made the pit of his stomach turn - was he foolish for thinking things could go back to how it was all over again?
The apology to him was supposed to close off any discrepancies between them, so he can see that same beaming face that always yells stupidly at him - Kacchan Sugoi!
The way Izuku looks at him now, Katsuki bites the inside of his cheek and slaps Izuku's hand away. It's too much for him, and with the air of someone hurt in the same tone he had back in ground zero, Katsuki barks back at him, ]
NO, IT'S YOU WHO NEEDS TO! [ Doesn't he see he's trying to help build his ego back? Sit here training with him - SOMETHING HE DOESN'T want to do, because they are supposed to be rivals. Aiming to be better than the other, chasing one another's heels. Not here spending the time that he is trying to push him farther than he thinks he is, and trying to support him when he feels he has no one at his back - Katsuki is annoyed. Angry, full of a sense of grief, he doesn't like it because it means he is weak.
Is made weak by him. ]
FUCK! [ He tries to throw a punch at him, out of nowhere. ] You're so god damn STUPID!? [ Wants to shove him back onto the ground - ] YOU TALK TO ME DIPSHIT!!
[Izuku withdraws his hand when the other slaps it away. Figuring that the other wants space. He's shifting to step back to give Bakugo some when the other throws a punch, the failed attempt to dodge it causing him to slip and fall back. He winces as he lands, his cheek red from where the other hit him with the punch, one gloved hand raising to it as the other lies beside him as he had attempted to catch himself.]
And say what? What do you expect me to tell you?
[How he was terrified if he wasn't enough. If he can't defeat All For One or Shigaraki. The chances that his friends would get hurt helping him. Izuku already feels bad about leaving like he did. Let alone if the others got hurt or killed trying to help him in this. Even if part of him does acknowledge that he can't very well do it on his own. Izuku had already mentioned that. There's no point in going over it more. He doesn't want to worry Bakugo or any of the others more than he already has. He's oblivious to the other's feelings for him, so, of course, he can't exactly say anything to address that. It isn't like the other punching him was anything new. He's had worse injuries.]
THAT YOU'RE FUCKING TIRED - THAT YOU'RE GOD DAMN FUCKING SCARED? THAT YOU ARE LIAR AND DON'T TRUST ME - FUCKING ANYTHING? [ Kastuki is ontop of him now, if he hasn't scrambled to stand back up onto his feet. Meaning to push him onto the ground, shove him below him - make him aware that Katsuki is far above him in everyway - ] YOU WANT TO GET ON MY ASS FOR NOT TALKING, BUT DON'T EVEN DO IT YOURSELF - LITERALLY LOOK AT YOURSELF?
[Izuku blinks, his eyes briefly widening as Bakugo straddles on top of him before he can make to get back up. Hearing him yell out those insecurities. He closes his eyes briefly, his lips pursed as if that will hide that they quiver, tremble.]
Fine! I am. I'm exhausted. The last few days have me just barely actually feeling human again. I'm fucking terrified. But I...of course I trust you?
[That had never changed. Unless the other meant that Izuku was scared of something happening to the blonde. Which isn't to say that he doesn't believe in the other's abilities. More that he is well aware of what they were going up against. He looks up at the other, initially confused why Bakugo would think he didn't trust him. But he eventually looks as if it is more a glare, more of frustration and upset at the situation in general, than directed more at the blonde. His arms remain at his side, his knees up from his fall, his hands shifting instinctively to Bakugo's arms.]
But I don't see what saying that helps or changes anything. You're...I've already worried you so much.
